Nigeria Football Federation has banned super eagles coach Salisu Yusuf for a year alonside placing him on a $5,000 fine for receiving cash from undercover journalists who were posing as agents.
Yusuf who had previously coached players Eyimba and Kano Pillars, also gave coach Gernot Rohr some back up help to coach the super eagles in this year’s world cup in Russia.
He was found guilty after being caught on camera collecting $1,000 in exchange to select 2 players for the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
According to punch, NFF said:
“He is hereby banned for the period of one year, from partaking or involvement or participation in any football – related activity, effective from the date of this decision”
Even after The BBC aired the footage, Yusuf denied and gave excuses as he has the option to appeal, at hand.
